Almost Famous

Directed By Cameron Crowe

A teenaged music reporter (Fugit) goes on tour with a rock bank in the late 70s. Wonderful film that captures innocence lost as well as completely recreating a lost time in history. McDormand gives the best performance as the over-protective mother.

Several interconnect stories about teenager in love at a 1980s high school. Penn is hysterical as stoner Jeff Spicoli, as is Walston as his acid-tongued history teacher Mr. Hand.

Singles

Directed By Cameron Crowe
Starring Campbell Scott, Kyra Sedgwick, Bridget Fonda, Matt Dillon, Sheila Kelley, Jim True-Frost & Bill Pullman

Crowe's most underrated film about a group of twentysomethings living in an apartment complex in Seattle in the early 90s. Features great music by Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains & Chris Cornell. Done with a "Ferris Bueller" talking-to-the-camera style that works surprisingly well. Look fast for a cameo by filmmaker Tim Burton as, well, a filmmaker of sorts.
